My dream has been of buying one necklace and matching earrings in black pearls. I would appreciate some advice on where to buy them (on line) and what to look for so I won't be an ignorant buyer. Please help me to find something beautiful before I die.

Tahitians are known for their exotic natural coloration, large size, and perfect round shape. Akoyas are known for their high luster and roundness, but are smaller in size and dyed to get their black color. Freshwaters are the most affordable, are typically near round, and are also dyed to get their black color. Secondly, you will want to make sure you are getting high quality pearls that have high luster, minimal blemishing, and are perfectly matched. These all contribute to the value of your pearls.
