Well, the nice thing about pee is that it doesn't harm the animal or the environment. The outdoors is one big toilet. I don't like using chemicals, and I wasn't wild about using the mothballs, but at least I could pick them up if they didn't work. And animals understand marking of territory with pee, so why shouldn't humans do it?

Hmmm ... our neighborhood has a skunk issue. They wander down from the woods above our block, and cause endless issues ... Walter, oh, Walter ... ... ...

Are you saying that there is no limit to what Walter will do to keep you happy? Including "watering" the yard?

Hmmm very interesting. My 3 year old son would really enjoy helping us with the yard work if that was how to keep critters away...

Well, not in public, GemGeek LOL our neighbors are very close ... but he might consider BWeave's Greg's more private solution. In the past those skunks have taken up residence under our front porch, the neighbor's shed floor ... sprayed more than one of my dogs; usually at midnight grrrrrrrrrr ... Walter would prefer they not get too comfy around here

I've made no secret about my battles with cute but smelly skunks and the masked bandit garden raiders. Here in the bay area the incredibly wet weather this year has caused a population explosion. We will see them running around in late afternoon early evening while it is still daylight out.

Late last night I heard a bunch of noise, but no horrid smells. I turned on the deck lights, and there rambling along was the largest Opossum I've ever seen in CA. Not a minute later coming down the deck steps behind it was a raccoon. I can only assume the noise was some sort of battle. I told my friends, I am kinda surprised a skunk did not show up to the party.

My cousin once lived on a little farm property in the woods here in PA. Old house, barn and about 30 acres with woods and one field. The old house had a front porch, and every night her husband fed the outdoor barn cats (about 6 spayed and well loved mousers) on that porch. It didn't take long before if you turned on the light, you could watch the cats, the possum and the skunk all happily chowing down on kitty kibble together! Her husband thought it was funny. It didn't take much longer before that cat feeding station got moved to the back of the barn area LOL.
