Lovely! Battah, your pendants are amazing, and Purr, that new ring is stunning.

Great photos, Purr! Looks like a wonderful trip.

You really captured how special that erotochromic mabe is in the photo with the turtles. Truly a special, special pearl.

Ok, that is one amazing mabe on your octo ring, Purranha! It looks like a huge rainbow crammed into a ring and the setting is just as impressive! Battah's clay works are really neat too. What does the back look like (how does it attach to your necklace)? The exhibition looks really neat and how did you keep from getting dizzy? My favorite of your exciting weekend has to be the playdate with the turtles. They really are cute and friendly little guys, aren't they? I'm just a tad jealous you all can have mini ruckuses.

    Thank you, lovely ladies!

Amti, the pendants are lentil beads, so they're pierced through (like the one shown on a pearl necklace). No bail. And they have different designs on the front and back, because I'm indecisive and like to have options LOL.

Thank you everyone, so happy you all enjoyed the posting and my new pieces!!!

Cathy!!! OMG you MUST return to DC for the exhibition! It will be ongoing until 5/14, so you still have time. I am sorry to hear about your cousin and I’m glad you can spend time with her!

Amti I see that Battah has answered your pendant question, I will also take some more pictures of the 2 sided design of my pendant when I get home! I am so loving all of Battah’s new pieces – my girlfriend Cheryl is in love with the lotus pendant which unfortunately is already spoken for. Battah is so gracious to make another one for her, and I will post more when that’s done! And I love your description of the pearl lol!

Of course papa Douglas produces some of the finest pearls to be found. On top of that, as you all know Sheri’s ability to pick out the very best of the very best pearls amongst a tub of blinding best pearls from the namesake Sheri’s Screamers! This is just another demonstration of her impeccable eyes and ability to pick out the best pearls. I seriously want to break into her archive and see what else she is hiding/hording lol.

Jeremy needs to lug Sheri to the next buying trip!!!

Battah, what metal are you using for those lentil beads? Looks like karat gold?

Cathy it's bronze - the beads on either side of the bead strung on pearls are 14k gold filled, and it's a nice color match. I'll eventually do more stuff in fine silver with 22k gold accents, but at the moment since I'm playing with new designs I'm sticking with base metals.

Purr it would be bad news for my wallet if Sheri went on a buying trip!! So much gorgeous...

When I read "lentil beads", all I can think of is the edible lentils...
So I'm guessing lentil beads in the art/jewelry world means all the beads that's hollow inside so one can just loop a thread/wire through?

Haha Purr lentil beads are shaped like (huge) lentils - circular, open at the center and tapering to a sharpish edge, and they're hollow. It isn't any hollow bead, it's the type that's shaped like a lentil.

Correction, I'm wrong, I guess they aren't always hollow. Smaller lentil beads can be solid and not pierced through the edges, they can be center-drilled etc. But they're round and flatter than a typical round bead, and taper toward their outside edge.
