I have a terrible question....I love the Venus setting but I wonder, how does one avoid scratching the pearl when removing it or changing its position in the setting?

Thank you, everyone, for the nice compliments. I don't think you rotate the pearl to change the position. I think you just wear the front or back side depending on your mood.

I got this pearl at Tahiti Pearl Market (TPM). I came in and asked for baroque or off-round pearl to match a pair of earrings I bought from Pearl Paradise. Every pearl they showed me I said no. This pearl was not on display, but the sales manager took it out from the back. Once I saw it, it smiled at me. I smiled right back and kept rolling the pearl back and forth to see the color changes. TPM kept asking me if I want to make a pendant or fully drill it and put it on cable necklace. But I immediately remembered Jean's post and pictures and knew that I would copy hers. I think the Venus bale is simple, classy. Jennifer found such a clever way to display pearl.

In the end, when I made the stopover at Pearl Paradise the next day, I found a pearl to make a pendant to match my earrings.

Well, that makes sense!

You have a stunning pearl there.
