Ooh, sounds like fun!
Very difficult to tell with the fuzzy photos, but assuming they are real (pass the tooth test), they look like cultured Akoyas to me.
That conch pearl is mesmerizing!
Blaire, your photos practically made me drool on the keyboard!!!
So incredibly beautiful, Hisano, and such an innovative design!!!
Looks like fun...was hoping my museum membership might get me in, but no luck....darn, why oh why did I decide to become a starving artist when I grew up?!?!? Hmmmm...perhaps if I dress up as a...
Congratulations, Anna! And if anyone is scheduled to visit Paris this spring, looks like the dates of the show are May 29-June 3, 2013.
It has been fun perusing this thread...beauty is in the eye of the beholder, of course, and I am the proud owner of some pretty ugly pearls. Just spotted this one listed on ebay, and the expression...
Great shapes - and they look wonderful on your lovely neck!
EEEEK!!! Speck of dust!?! Guess it's time to go flame some pearls....
Looks like a pretty multicolor freshwater pearl strand to me, natural colors.
Wow, truly lovely, Jeremy. I'll look forward to that 18-20mm strand you're putting together for me.
Beautiful color graduation - excellent job!!!
Cool! That bodes well for the new year!!!
Looks like it will be nice, but you should take a look at the tahitian pearl bracelet listed on that site while you're at it - at approx. $5/pearl, seems like a very fair price!
Well well well, with the 30-day return policy, I bit. Will report back. Quick retail-therapy, woo hoo!
Looks like a very nice quality pearl, if the photo is representative. I think the price for the pearl is quite reasonable, though it is not very large. I would be very tempted, but for the fact...
Of course some of those who know me may think of me as Madame OTT, I say wear them together!!! :O)
Lovely color on those akoyas, and those earrings look perfect on you!
The surface and luster look really nice, and they look like a good size on your neck. The color of Tahitians is hugely variable, depending on the light and time of day. Try looking at them under...
The bad news - my job of 21 years is about to go away, and I've decided to become a full-time starving artist/mad scientist.
The good news - I still have a paycheck for another month, and I'm...
Sounds like a fun read - thanks for the tip, Mikeyy!
Afraid I couldn't locate that image, but here's a nice vintage image to show that pearls with tats go way back!!!
Those are great!!!
