lol - 200 inches of pearls would sure make a statement, might need a strong back to hold them up though ;)

good point, for some reason a lot of people want full retail price for jewelry they've already worn. Ebay can be a tough sell, they've allowed so much junk to be sold that a lot of people just won't...
Here is the correct piece, I like it much better then the black and white personally.

We recently put together a couple of tin cups, one with Edison pearls and one with Souffle pearls
10-13mm Edison tin cup

8-8.5mm gem grade w/ 15-17mm Souffle pearls

No they are about as low quality as you can get. I mean they are selling 100" of pearls for $17.99. There's plenty of deals to be had online but in this case you are getting exactly what you pay for....
so without any identifying marks to prove its a Mikimoto piece then I would suggest to only offer a price in line with the value of the item. You can't pay a premium for the Mikimoto name if it...
Sorry I can't help you with a price but it is an interesting design, my big concern would be the box. The box isn't an original Mikimoto box, although Saks does sell Mikimoto so it may never have...
Sorry but I'd have to agree with Pearl Dreams, they look like cultured Akoya pearls to me. I think your jeweler confirmed they were "real" saltwater pearls, not "natural" saltwater pearls as Caitlin...
Hi Tradersuz
What you have there are cultured freshwater pearls, the white color is natural but the grey would be dyed. Hope that helps!
Caitlin is right, at this point its not a Mikimoto strand and never will be. It may have started its life as a Mikimoto strand but without paperwork, clasp and box its simply a pearl necklace.
I would suggest freshwater pearls for a girl that young, you can always upgrade to Tahitians when she gets older. Tahitians would be plenty durable enough but personally it seems like overkill for...
I would say, if you bought the strand as a Mikimoto and it didn't come with the original Mikimoto clasp then I would return the item. You paid a premium for for the brand but without the clasp and...
from the above linked page.
I agree for larger sizes I think the button looks better.
somewhere between 5-6mm would probably be a good choice for a 8 year old but going a little large (6-7mm) does allow her to grow into the strand and ultimately allow her to wear it much longer.

Many young women are wearing pearl ropes, can't go wrong IMO.
Hi Rkas,
As we always suggest, if you don't see exactly what you're looking for on a vendor site reach out and see what else they have in stock. Most of us don't list everything we have on hand...
that is kind of my feel as well Karin, confusing is a good word to describe it. Oh well it was a mistake, that's the nice thing about pearls - they can always be restrung.
Thanks DK - appreciate the feedback.
No I didn't see it, I'll have to dig it up and get some ideas - thanks!
Thanks Pattye,
I posted the same question on our facebook page and seems lots of people like it, I don't know if it works for me but then again I may not be the target demographic for a 100 inch...
ok so I'll admit this was actually a mistake, the original piece was supposed to be 100" of 6-7mm black FWPs with 8 9-10mm black accent pearls - no white pearls. Regardless I'm having it redone but...
Thanks for the feedback Cyril, youre right if a full beaded bracelet doesn't appeal to you then this one probably wouldn't either. Do you have any examples to post of what you would consider wearing?...
well the necklace isn't new, its given 30-20 years old. It may be unworn but that seems really unlikely that they just had this strand sitting around for 25 years and it was never word. As well its...
that's a pearl alright, great find! You don't hear of many pearls coming from the PNW. Unfortunately there isn't much cash value to the pearl but still a cool find none the less.
