At least there are good chances that they will stop hunting whales in the South Pacific. These costly expeditions were funded by the government for "research purposes", and the Japaneses will...
Kiteboarding is more related to wakeboarding and windsurfing than surfing. Most kitesurfers can't surf.
I had been windsurfing, wakeboarding and surfing for almost 10 years before I started...

I should have written "in our waters".
Sorry Josh, can't do.
Too busy surfing :]
edit: actually, we shot a small video a few weeks ago. It was much colder, no waves, but we had fun: http://vimeo.com/20848403

Undertow. Visitors don't realize how treacherous the shorebreak can be. Sharks are very rarely seen on our beaches, and I never heard of an attack on the French coast.
30°C here this afternoon at the beach. (86°F). A nice 2m swell and the first casualty of the season.

I just remembered the URL: http://tahitipearlauction.com/ 13 auctions in less than 4 years. That's a lot of pearls.
The director of the Maison de la Perle Ingrid Izquierdo did a couple of video...
Not only is he buying, he was also the largest buyer at that auction in Bora.
Tahiti Pearl Market auctioned 200,000 pearls in HK in September 2008 under the name Tahiti Pearl Producers or United...
The atoll made the news in France a couple of months ago. The tsunami and radiation issues were discussed. There is a tower in Moruroa where people can take refuge in case of a tsunami. There is a...
There is no doubt that the nuclear tests have had an impact on the fauna and flora of the two atolls; I am however unsure they could have had an impact of the size of pearls harvested in Marutea Sud....
Hi Andrew,
Thanks for your answer. I am not considering custom made boxes at this stage - it will depend on the volume of sales we generate (This is for a new business). I am selecting three types...
Hi all,
A question to those of you who are selling jewellery: how you calculate the maximum cost of presentation boxes. Is it according to the sale price of the jewel, or maybe its cost? And what...
ha yes, I missed it!
Talking about ammonites... http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2011/03/ammonoids-trapped-parasites-in-pearls/
Despite my "senior guide member" status I am not an expert and these pearls could be baroque SS or naturals...
Maybe the findings can tell you more about the nature of the pearls. Is it gold? Are...
I have a copy of Gems & Gemology on my desk, the 2007 issue about the cultured pearl industry.
It says:
"In 1954, a joint pearl culturing venture between Tokuichi Kuribayashi and Alan Gerdau...
I just bought Bari's book "Pearl". On page 21, it reads:
"Mabe, a word of Tahitian origin, does not have any particular meaning, and we prefer to use the much more evocative term of blister pearl"...
I find the colors a bit dull, but I guess that's the price to pay for such huge Tahitians! What a strand!
Did you buy the strand or hand-pick the pearls?

What's the font name again? I may be interested too :D
Caption reads:
microradiograph of a round 1.49ct Nautilus pearl revealing a centrally placed void or area of organic matter.
I was having a look at the monograph again and the radiograph of figure 44 struck me. I see something that resembles a tiny nautilus or some kind of coil-shaped something.
Interesting. What tool allows such a thin section without breaking the pearl?
They are far from other farms, which probably lessens the risk of epizootics such as the one that occured in 2006.
And far from the natural gas plant that's supposed to be built in the Kimberley....
