It's quite a lot of money for me that I'd rather put towards some pearls I think. I'm sure it's worth doing though, but not right now. I thought the info in the course would be the type of secret...
I guess maybe I should try to source information elsewhere, seeing as I only want to take the course for fun.
Nora: What do you think of the course so far?
That's good to hear. I've nothing to do next spring so I'm thinking about taking a course of some sort, always wanted to do this one. Is the information you get in the course hard to find type...
Yeah, it makes sense now. Thanks!
Just wondering if it's the new, updated one or still the old one they had last time I checked in 2009ish...
Can I do the long bit (not the pearl grading class) all online? Can't go to the U.S sadly. And is that the new course? I've been terribly ill-informed about the world of pearls and GIA the last two...
Not sure where to put this and not sure if I should have tried harder to find the information before posting this but have the GIA graduate pearl diploma (or whatever it's called) course disappeared?...
Wow, some of those really look like eggs. Cool!
Caitlin: I guess the grass is often greener on the other side. Lots of fair people want to get tanned, and like someone mentioned, many asiatic people spend lots of money to get lighter skin. I'm...
Normally those kind of companies only use really little of those "miracle ingredients" (pearl dust, crushed diamonds, gold...) and then they make customers think that there's lots of it, or enough to...
Those colours are stunning.
This is totally off topic, but I saw the thing the necklace is hanging on, and I thought it was one of those things jewellers hang necklaces on, the things that are supposed to look like necks you...
If I could vote, then Claudenancy would get my vote! Such beautiful, design. Really reminds me of the nature we have around us.
Either that or I'd vote for one of those cute critter designs. : )
Haha, those silly rumors...
Here in Sweden I hear them all the time. Sometimes you even hear about goldsmiths (that are supposed to have a good knowledge of all kinds of gems) that say silly...
Neither can I! You must promise to post pictures. Personally I got to wait 28 days to see mine... It's killing me!!!
I normally don't like akoyas at all but these are gorgeous! I actually really like the white ones, never been keen on white pearls before.
I think it's such a great achievment (however you spell...
What kind of design are you after? Any other gem stones in the design? What metal techniques can we use in the designs? (filigree etc)
If I remember correctly then pinking is some kind of dye that makes the pink overtones stronger. Most akoyas with pink overtones have been pinked I think.
Any plans to list them anyway?
How come PP haven't put the non round strands on their website? Not enough strands?
Oh, the ovals! I actually prefer them to my round exotics.
I'm going to be the oddball and say that I prefer the old exotics to these. I miss them... The colour were so beautiful!
I'm sorry but I agree with Jerin. Maybe I haven't looked carefully enough but the pearls I've seen in E.u can't compare to those from PP and TPO. I know this is upsetting but if you think about it...
I think this is wonderful!
I love to read about the science of pearls, itīs very interesting. Maybe one day I could become a pearl scientist myself! If so Iīd do my best to figure out how to...
25-35%? Thatīs not right. The taxes on most things in England are 15% right now, like Pearlescense said.
Or am I mixing things up? I might be talking about VAT, not sure what the difference is....
I'm not talking about the shipping time, I'm not dumb so I know that it takes extra long because I'm overseas. Just the fact they haven't been strung yet... But I guess these people ordered earlier...
