unfortunately, i was referring to the "round" gem quality freshwater pearls as generally described by the vendors. :)

my mom's vintage akoyas have "yellowed" quite a bit, according to my jeweller since they were kept in the dafe deposit box for too long. they look more like ivory color in real life.

i think the overtone on the pearl necklace is quite neutral, i couldn't really tell the overtone as well.

i so used to wearing my simple akoya studs so i guess the ss ones are "reserved" for better occasions.

haha...i really should wear them more often, they are white and yellow gold...

here are my pearls, it's beautiful and i loooove it!! :D i think the luster of FWP is a lot closer to ss pearls than akoyas. now i understand why i read that akoyas have a metallic luster.

today is friday! so i still don't have my fwp........but i decided to take pics of my akoyas and ss pearls instead...

i noticed the 3 main online pearl stores have not been restocking the 9-10mm gem quality white FWP necklaces for quite sometime now....

anyone knows why this is so? is it my timing of my purchase?...

the 9-10mm set were still available when i started looking but i wanted bigger sizes so i was choosing between AAA 10-11mm vs 9-10mm gem quality......

then when i saw the tahitian...

does anyone know how often pearl paradise stocks up? or when is the usual harvesting season is?

i was ready to order 9-10 freshadamas along with those pretty tahitian bracelets but the freshdamas...
