| GIMP: AKA French Wire, Bullion. This is the teeny tiny coil of wire which is placed on high-end strands, usually to protect silk from the abrasion of the jump ring which attaches the strand to the clasp. Many people use gimp with other stringing materials as well to give the piece a more finished look.
