Just thought I would recommend three books I read during the holidays.

Oyster by Rebecca Stott

---in no way a scholarly book on the oyster, but a fun one instead. Everything about the pearl bearing bivalve you ever wanted to know, but secretly thought you would be bored to death if you picked up a book about it. Not so.

Making Designer Freshwater Pearl Jewelry: Techniques and Projects for Creating Contemporary and Casual Jewelry by Noelle Sherman

----a really neat book for the beginner to intermediate beader. Advanced beaders and beginner metalsmiths might find the projects not challenging enough.

With this ring:The Ultimate Guide to Wedding Jewelry by a slew of authors(4)

----good pics of wedding jewellry(many with stunning pearls) recieved and worn by quite a few celebrities. What did Audry Hepburn or Grace Kelly wear on their wedding day? What did Elizabeth Taylor or the Duchess of Windsor recieve as wedding gifts? Get the book.
