Me, too. I finally get one almost done with no tangles (thanks to all the good advise on this board) and then.....not enough thread.

Well, I am always on the "generous" side, I alwas have at least 10" left when finishing, thatīs great. Greediness takes much more time so remember 4 times the length and 8 - 10" extra as Caitlin says.

I decided after my first "take it apart and re-do it" (after ~55 knots out of 60) that string is cheaper than time. Now I try to have too much string. For an 18" strand I don't bother with 80" of string that is small potatoes. I go with much more than that (on the order of 10') because I can always cut some off.
