Pattye,
Your jewelry is beautiful. I just love the smoky quartz necklace and bronzy bead-nucleated fw necklace. They are very distinctive.

Looking at everyone's lovely creations makes me want to bead so bad! I actually have some gemstone beads (various colored tourmaline and ruby) that I rashly bought at an Intergem Show couple of years ago. I bought them because they were so pretty, but I don't know what to do with them.

Hi Pattye,

I hadn't seen your previous photos - they are all gorgeous! I love the pieces you have made using pearls as the spacers - particularly the aquamarines - but the bead nuc FW piece just blows me away - fantastic! I am inspired by you making such lovely pearly things without knotting - learning to knot scares the life out of me!

Congratulations on beautiful work!

That is exactly how I started! I bought watermelon tourmaline slice beads at an Intergem show because I could not find a bracelet that matched my pendant, earrings and ring-- then I had no option but to learn how to bead. The rest is history. You will learn too.

Here's a few more:
These pearls are mostly silvery-lavender in color. I used small ssilver stardust rondelles, and just happened to find matte finish hoops for earrings. The center pearl is about 14mm. Not bead nucleated.

Awhile ago, I recall over a year, I bought some very blemished pearls on ebay about $6 per strand, they had to be picked over, but had amazing lustre. The center pearl is about 12mmx14mm, and was the only large one like this. Sunstone is golden color, not faceted, vermeil spacers.

Here are some of the smaller (about 10mm) funky pearls, with golden sunstone rondelles and saucer spacers in 14k gold filled. ropes are about 40 inches long.

Here is another variation with small 2mm 18k white gold filled round spacers, nice fw keishi, and faceted round sunstone.

Here are some high quality coin pearls, pretty large, and nice pink sunstone with some schiller, but don't know if it will show up in the photo.

You might be able to see my small triangular "logo" bead about 3-4mm--it has an eye on each of 3 sides--as in "an EYEFUL of pearls and gemstones"----sometimes it is on the end of the extender, sometimes near the clasp. As you not-yet beaders can see, a lot can be done with wire and tornado crimps!!!! I plan to soon be knotting--making more things possible----thanks for looking!!

P.S. This is Oregon sunstone, mined right here in eastern Oregon--and a fabulous, rather expensive gemstone!

Pattye,
You are so talented. Your creations are just fabulous. I do not like coin pearls, but now that I see yours, they look so gorgeous and I like them. The pearls matched with various gemstones are so creative. Very nice work !!! My favorite is the multi-color with sunstone spacers.

If you are applying for membership...then I am a long way from getting one.

Pattye:
How fabulous! I'm drooling all over my Mac. Where did you ever find all that Oregon Sunstone? I keep looking but it's so expensive and I can never find nice pieces to work with like you have.
I can't decide which piece I like the best. You have done such a nice job on everything. I'll just have to look at all of them over and over.

Thanks Pattye.

Those pictures are a real treat. You realize you are making sunstones famous--what a wonderful gem and you truly enhance it with your choice(s) of pearls.

Have you put any with the exotics yet?

Thanks Caitlin,

I'm glad you got to see them in person at Tucson! Yes, the Exotics look terrific with Oregon sunstone! I am just now working on some designs. My large oval Exotics have lots of shades of peach, gold, ivory, (not so much lav) in many beautiful tones, so they look terrific together!

Thanks to Others for the nice compliments! It's very encouraging!!

Well Patty, my all-time favorurite is the coral-necklace. Such vibrant colours!

I like all of your other designs too but this one is excellent, especially that it is very hard to come by coral that is not treated nowadays!

I look forward to see you first knotted strands, that goes too for Nerida!I am quite sure, once you master this art, you will enjoy the designing and finishing of your pearl jewellery even more than just beading...

You made some beautiful necklaces out of beautiful pearls. I like the way you use less expensive pearls and make them look like gems !!! It's easy to make expensive pearls look ...expensive, it's an art to make pearls taken from 6$ strand look like jewels !! Continue posting pictures of your treasures !!

Here's a design for a new enhancer--all those pearl necklaces sometimes deserve a little extra! This is a bar pearl (20+mm) dripping nacre, with keishi---
