Frame wire? As in wire for frames? I haven't heard of Just for Fun....is it a beading store? Now I'm curious as to how you ended up using frame wire for a jewelry finding!
Frame wire is just French wire - I just wrote what they have on the package so that if you were to ask for it, they'd know what you were talking about. Just for Fun carries tools, equipment, supplies, wire - no beads though. They have a great staff and are really patient with all of my ignorant questions. They're on Buford Hwy.

Frame wire! How funny! Do you think it would do double duty and hang my new picture on the wall too!?

I want to take pics too. How do yall get such close ups?? I have a good camera but apparently don't know how to get that close of a shot. I'm all ears for any advice....otherwords, I'll have to wait until next Wednesday when baby girl college student photographer extraordinaire comes home!

Does macro do anything for you? If not, wait for BGCSPE. Why don't they call the store "Everything But Beads"?

Oh, Caitlin posted a response which I saw then she took it down as I was replying to it. Maybe she'll put it back up.

Hi knotty.

My last response is one page back #15. I haven't posted since then.

General question:
BTW what does that BGCSPE mean?

BGCSPE is baby girl college student photographer extraordinaire. I found the macro setting so I'll see about posting a pic later on.

Well, I could never get a close up of the parted coils, but someone else did in the show me your pearls forum. Take a look at this bracelet, at the close up of the clasp in pic 5 and 14, and you can see some parted coils on the gimp. So is this normal then?

It's not normal, at least I wouldn't be pleased with it. You're gonna get me in trouble here because I believe this is a bracelet which was purchased from one of our online vendors. It sort of looks like the plated gimp I purchased then tossed. But then, I'm just real picky. I'm not interested in setting any knotting speed record, I just enjoy the journey. It's Christmas, they're probably overworked little elves. Who am I critiquing? Love you all! Really do!

I've been wondering how it's going with you.

Thanks for the opinion, Knotty. I've been thinking about how the little gimpy thing is curved around and really, it would make sense that at some point, depending on the length cut, the coils would indeed have some separation.

I'm sorry I've been so ding dang obsessive about this. I just want my product to be Mary Poppinish as can be...(practically perfect in every way)

I redid the pretty necklace with some vermeil I purchased through a different company. I think the end result was much better.

One design I did is so simple and yet, one of my favorites. I took a coin pearl and paired it with two victorian sterling silver keys. Then hung them on a chain. I figured since the gate of heaven is supposed to be one big pearl and Jesus gave us the keys to the kingdom...well what better reminder than to make a piece of jewelry celebrating that!

Got two pearl earring orders today and I honestly think I'm done for the season. Yippee!!

I had the pearly gate scripture in my profile before we got the new format. "The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl." Rev. 21:21

Can you imagine the size of those molluscs! My own opinion is, no two gates will be carved from the same kind of pearl. There may even be a giant clam pearl gate. I can't wait!

Sounds like a wonderful design.

Hi Sue. I bought this last gimp, which seemed to do well, from Fire Mountain. And the cool thing was....when I spoke with them about their gimp, they were very concerned about how it worked out and insisted I let them know if I wasn't thrilled with the performance. They said if it didn't do exactly what I wanted, then they may need to look for an even better performing gimp...but they felt confident it would do fine. They really emphasized wanting to know how it performed. Pretty cool, I thought.
