| The ring definitely has wearability to it- there are mountings out there that look to die for in the display case but will do nothing for you once you put it on... the ring fits your hand nicely- I bet you could wear it with all kinds of outfits! I really appreciate the photos, thanks very much! The center pearl is quite striking and large- perfect for a ring, I love it! I don't know how I feel about the keshi accents, though...it looks like they detract attention from the spectacular center. I realize that you needed to conceal the drill holes on either side of the pearl, but perhaps you could use smaller round black freshwater pearls instead? I noticed the mounting is not set up to hold gemstones at all, but a colored gemstone accent on either side would be really pretty, and if you had the prongs for a setting built up high enough you could still "hide" the drill holes- just a random thought, but: Lemon Yellow Sapphire Trillian-cuts? Or maybe Imperial Topaz with some sunrise pink tones in them... About 1/3cts each...yum! Again, keep up the great work! Your pieces look great!

| Thanks for an honest opinion and suggestions... Those trillion cut saphires - why saphires, lets use pink diamonds !!! This was the best setting I found to "contain" this rather big pearl ( base is 11 x 13mm). As I said before, I'm not happy with it. I'm sure I'll be redoing it. One day I'll find a way to show this pearl properly..... |

| The ring looks way nicer on hand than close up... (is that epoxi? hope it can be removed w/o leaving stains). Definitely love the keshi clusters idea & wish it could be incorporated in an innovative setting. Could see small colored stone beads - perhaps carved ones - used with or instead keshis. Something along THESE LINES comes to mind, just because the example came up and I know these also look great, and less provoking on hand than they do on paper, so to speak. Something like this would definitely be a left-hand middle finger ring to me (size 3 on ring finger, leaves no room for much of anything next to a big pearl like that! You have the hand for it ) PS. by 'carved beads' I mean something like THESE, only way smaller, obviously. Last edited by Valeria101; 04-10-2007 at 03:24 AM. |

| I saw this glue deposits only when I posted the picture. It's already cleaned..... I like those little funky rings from your link, but not enough to want one like this. Basically what I would like for this pink pearl of mine is to set it very simply in bezel on wide, kind of square band of silver. No small accents on the sides. Bezel could be irregular, going on the sides high enough to hide holes....This is something I would have to have my jeweler to do for me.... |

To begin with, your descriptions made me think of a certain style (e.g. William Richey). No particular model there, but the several unusual versions of "bezel" settings. Would such a 'geometric' style be anywhere close to what you have in mind? Otherwise, any examples? |

Besides, 'egg in nest' is a traditional theme for pearl jewelry... You could find some really tremendous examples. Quote:
I sure do! |

| Thanks for all your ideas... I must say -it's third day and I still like this "nest" ring of mine... still no urge to change it ...yet.. I think, I'll have to start selling.... I don't know how and to whom, but I start having more necklaces / bracelets that I need and I want to make more..... I'm waiting for more pearls that I just ordered..... |
