Hi All,
This is my first post, but not my first pearls! I've just discovered this forum a few weeks ago.
I’ve got today my pearls, which I ordered from Harmony Pearls! I am really happy with my purchase! The pearls are beautiful!
Just to the facts: I’ve ordered on 4.6.2013, paid on 5.06.2013, and Amrita shipped on 7.6.2013 and got it on 10.6.2013! This is a really quickly delivery, if you consider, that I am in Europe, Austria!
The whole order process was really smooth, without any problems! The tracking number of DHL allowed me, to guide the process!
The packing of the pearls was really well-made, and the pearls lay in a nice box!
To the pearls: the pearls are at the first inspection beautiful! They have luster, and the shape of the pearls is round, some of them maybe only near round! Regarding size of the pearls: I ordered 10.0-10.5. I’ve got rope of 16 inch, which is 40.64 cm, and the rope consists of 38 pearls! So if I calculate 40.64/38 = 1.069 cm each pearl, it means 10.69 mm! Also the size is perfect!
Maybe for some potential buyer from Europe: I had to pay 12 € customs, and 20% VAT. I knew about the VAT, and also expected some custom fees, but I think, this was not much.
I also have to add, that the pearls came just right in, because I have my birthday on 11.06., what she did not even knew! But this was a really nice surprise!
I just recommend Amrita and her pearls! I am surely going to place my next order very soon!

I saw a mention in a Tahitian pearls thread that it was normal to have some chalkiness in the bottom of a ring on the pearls. I read another posting that talked about how the rings are likely formed as the pearl turns inside the oyster/mussel/clam. What I'm wondering about is different pearls I've seen that look like they were cut on a lathe. The rings look cut into the pearl and the edges are sharp and the dips are deep. This would seem to be a flaw to me not a desired thing. Is that really acceptable on a pearl?

Also, I've seen some that looked like sections of the nacre had been rubbed away, or like they'd spun against something making a rubbed circle around the widest part.

Why would a retailer sell pearls that looked so beat up knowing that their name was on the line? I'm talking about $30-$80/strand.

Thanks, Cecilia

Catherine is wonderful, btw, and I highl recommend her. She was able to put this together for me. I love pink! So this is my rope of drips and drops, 12.8-10mm~ish, all pink, peach, and lilac. The colours are very harmonious together, and blend but add interest. These are graded AAA with super lustre, and I have to agree. The lustre is fabulous!!!!!!

Hi everyone,

I found out this forum today and it's great. I love the discussions here. You guys are very knowledgeable!!! :D

I would like to know what kind of pearl necklace is this. Personally I think this is a freshwater pearls but I'm not quit sure. Some said it looks like Tahitian pearls because of the colors. This is a 11-12mm necklace. The blemish is not very visible.

I remember I read it somewhere in the book that luster should be your primary focus when judging quality. What do you think about the luster of this necklace?

Can anyone please advice me. Thank you so much.
