| Hmm. I should open a few eBay complaints because the art I've bought cost more than the canvas and the paint would. Fraud! I find it terribly odd no one here asked you how you liked them. I've been on eBay 10 years and even though the site has become more legitimate by suburban-mall standards, it's still hazardous to go there thinking it's a store. eBay value is determined by your desire versus someone else's desire. Expensive stuff goes cheap, cheap rare stuff goes for undefendable prices because two people think that tacky tchotchke looks just like something their grandmother had. You aren't in China and I'm guessing you don't frequent tradeshows. If they're beautiful to you, I say keep them and love them. 95% of the people who see them will have no idea what they are. Now, if you were speculating or if they're ugly, obviously you want to recover your money and I hope you do. I've never sought recourse when I laid my money down against a blurry photo/unlikely story and was wrong because losing is the downside of gambling. If I didn't want to play, I'd go to a store, rather than complain and encourage a site predicated on the thrill of the treasure hunt to become more like Amazon. Sorry, I'm a tad bitter eBay isn't what it was back in high school. Either way, I hope all works out as you'd like! |

| I agree that something you really like is worth more than the $ value, but in this case I was speculating and took the chance deliberately because I could return them. I am not going to leave a negative feedback unless he relists them or any other pearls that appear to be frauds. I usually have good experiences with eBay because I do accept the risks and I also do my homework. This will be the second time I have sent something back - the other by the way was art. Both times I think it was an ignorant seller, who readily admitted their mistake. I recovered my money last time, and I believe I will this time as well. Thanks to everyone who responded and confirmed my pearl assessment. I felt better saying that they were FW with real experts backing me up. Like I said, what I do know I learned here! ![]()
