Hi Jeremy,

thatīs a tough one! Itīs so frustrating remembering having seen at least some of the answers but not quite remembering! Iīll give it a try but I donīt think Iīll make it! This takes time and patience!

Thanks for a really invigorating job for our NCN-brains!

Wow am I lucky! I usually try to peek in once a day at work. Yesterday was brutal and I barely had time to breathe. Had I seen this, it would have made me crazy! Coming late to the party, but I'm here.

I got 28 down, but I am at a loss for 21 across. I found 28 down online, but 21 accross I couldn't get any hits.

Both 21 and 28 are on this Web site. On the same page, in fact. They are both terms still very much used today at pearl auctions.

Hints

Sp? = sounds the same but spelling is different.

My brother (6 across sp?) used to play with this toy (7 down) until he hit himself in the eye with it, only saving his cornea by this (48 across). Now he just plays this card game (30 down sp?).

Sorry, I cannot come up with an additional hint for 44 down

That was a fantastic hint! I already figured out 48 across because I had blank- L -blank -N -blank -I -blank - blank.

I have been looking up akoya disease and Akoya shell disease, but nothing yet.

So that's all but one. Thanks for all the hints. I'll help anyone else who wants it........

I'm a Solid Nacre Nut, so I'll pass on the title, so go for it everyone else!

Any one figures out 44 down is the winner, cause I am quitting.

Here's a hint: blank H blank blank O

You are not looking for a disease. The scaly spots are on the pearls! It is a type of flaw!

All but one so far! Very impressive!

Syntax: As the nuts, we are the covered/coated ones. 100% nacre all the better…

All power to the winner!
