I´m wondering what colour of pearl that would suit me best since I can´t decide on peach pearls or lavender... I have dark brown hair, brown eyes and light skin with a slightly yellow undertone, and I´m Europeianlooking if that makes sense? Please help me.

My thought is that the peach might look really good on you, picking up the warm undertones. The lavender are great on folks with cooler undertones, though I think either one will look good.


Peach is the better choice for my redheaded daughter because it picks up the yellow-peach undertones very well.

I was on the contrary thinking of lavender for you: since I got a chocolade-lavender strand from TPO, I find combination of brown with lavender quite fascinating!

Ask your hairdresser to recommend a color based on the flecks of color in your eyes. They match hair tone colors that way. If there are gold flecks, your overall tone will be best with peach. If there aren't gold flecks, go with pink or lavendar.

I think Richard Wise writes about this - looking for what's harmonious with a person's most un-environmentally-damaged skin on the inside of their wrist. It's elsewhere on the forum...

The color of your veins on the inside of your wrist is also a clue as to the undertones in your skin. Green = warm, blue/purple = cool

That is such a fantastic tip!

Another alternative: you could look inside your wardrobe to see if you wear more pink or peach. Usually we pick the colors that look good on us. (Unless you wear black all the time.)

Ah yes, thank you for jogging my memory!

@ Airdancer, you're right we usually do wear what's most flattering, overall. Or there is a special shirt or other article of clothing that we put on when we're feeling really good about ourselves and/or in which we feel great and often that is a color and saturation that flatters us.

After following all your tips I think both colour will suit me because I don't have gold flecks in my eyes which suggest that lavender will suit me, but my veins are green (purple at some places) and when looking in my closet I have both warm and cool colours. I saw on a page somewhere that some people have a middlething between cool and warm skin tone, if that makes sense? Not sure how correct that is. I think that i'll go for lavender in which case because that's the colour I prefer of the two. I think that it's best to go for the colour you like best if you are a pearl lover because you'll probably spend a lot of time just looking at them...

You should be well familiar with the concept of warm versus cool skin colors, warm with its yellow or peach undertones and cool with its blue or pink. In assessing whether someone is primarily warm or cool in his or her coloring, consider not only the skin, but also the hair and eyes and make an overall determination. Many people are a hybrid of warm and cool, especially those who color their hair, which often adds warm red or gold highlights. Even if the modified hair color isn’t optimal for a person, that color needs to be taken into consideration in selecting pearls (or any jewelry, for that matter) that best complements the individual.

In choosing the optimal shade of white pearls, look to the whites of the customer’s eyes, especially if her eyes are large or prominent. Teeth are a second and less reliable indicator of the optimal shade of white because very often the teeth either have yellowed somewhat in their natural state, or they have been unnaturally whitened beyond the point of what would have been the optimal color. The customer with a mix of warm and cool coloring can probably wear either warm- or cool-hued pearls, although she may find that she prefers one over the other. For pearls worn against the skin, such as classic strands, the skin color generally trumps the hair color. Mixing pearls with precious metals in jewelry is a beautiful way to incorporate both warm and cool into the mix. For instance, a necklace of pink-tinged Tahitian black pearls set in yellow gold or one of golden South Sea pearls set in platinum incorporates both warm and cool tones. And a necklace of multi-colored pearls can also beautifully accomplish the same effect."

Good Choice Mervione. Lavender/purple pearls are so much my favorite, I haven't bought any other color for some time. (I may make an exception for the cranberries, but they will go to my elder daughter)

If I understand well
Pearls have overtones, while human beings have undertones...
What a wonderful world

I advise you to take both pearls anyway, they will match in any situation : daylight, electrical light, winter light, summer light, and how you are dressed

I am fair, sallow, blue veins, dark hair, hazel eyes - typical weird Sicilian coloring - which of the whites would be best? I like all the shades - rose, silver, etc. - help

I think rose overtones would suit any colouring, silver can be nice too of course but it makes the pearls look even more whitish!

Yes - I could see rose or the silver. Although champagne and gold are very beautiful I don't think they would be enhanced by my coloring and vice versa.
