| Hello to you all. I am seeking advise/guidance and hope I can find it here. I need to try and sell my pearl necklace to help pay some unexpected vet bills and it sounds like E-bay is not the way to go. I was wondering what alternatives there are for an "individual" seller. Also, from what I've seen on this sight I think they are Akoyas but I am not sure of grade/quality. Do I need to get an appraisal in order to have them identified and if so how much should I pay? Any recomendations for a knowledgable person in Austin, Texas? I have attached pics in case this helps. Thank you for any help you can provide. |

| Sorry, thought I put in more than one picture. Trying again. I know these aren't very good, I'm using my mom's digital and the lighting is can lights in the dining room. The black background is the leather envelope like case the necklace came in and the other one is a white bath towel even thought it doesn't look white in the picture. Hope this helps. Thanks, Michele |

| Unfortunately your pearls regardless of whether you sell them on e-bay or another source will bring in very little. You didn't say how much you need to get to part with your necklace, however, if your vet bills are substantial, the pearls will only bring a small percentage of the amount you need, perhaps $200. Please keep in mind I'm just shooting from the hip here and don't know anything extraordinary about your pearls. The clasp doesn't indicate anything of any importance i.e., brand, antique, gemstones. There's always the possibility your vet may barter for the pearls. I would try that avenue. If that doesn't occur, work out a payment plan which is acceptable to you both and get your pet(s) back to health as quickly as possible. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery.
