So, they're still 'red' if this is the reddest pearls can be or close to that anyway. 'Red' topaz is no more red than that and the description is as accepted as any... fair game, for what a random opinion matters. Actually, the colors of 'red' topaz and your pearls seem to fit.. also inasmuch as both gems show off play of shades (dichroism for topaz, orient on pearls) ![]() |

| Hm... these are mighty gorgeous pearls! The pictures appear to show mighty strong red overtones on dark body color. Or is the base color dark red too? Not that it would makes these any less 'red pearls' unless one expects their red pearls to look like cherry tomatos! Or died freshwater... I couldn't see your pictures because of their size - the first goes out of the window. Had to download them first. Here they are resized to fit into a window. What a heart warming sight ! ![]() ![]() |

The other one (pearl I mean) is from the 2003 Harvest when we had more "fiery" colors. I don't think I had posted that one before. But all the colors are natural...not "Photoshoped" in any way. If you do "digitally alter" the colors they look fake...and I am not really good with Photo editors. Maybe someone with the skills can do something good...not me.

All of our Pearls are bonafide Pteria sterna cultured pearls. The Rainbow Lips are something out of the ordinary...but those pearls you have posted are really special as well...I can tell they are 100% Natural Color. This is another example of "Reds"...once more, all-natural colors here. BTW, I want to inform everyone that I will be "out-of-the-forum" for some months. It is not definitive (will be back next summer) of course...but our "Working Season" has begun now, the Northern winds are blowing since 2 days ago, which means I have got to go back to the farm and stay there. No more time to write, take photos...nada. So this is not a Farewell...but a "See ya'll later". ¡Hasta la Vista Amigos!
