Very lustrous pearls! Well, the earrings look like button pearls, rounded but flattened, which indicate freshwater. Also some of the pearls appear to have rings, and the off round shapes which also lead me to believe cultured freshwater, not akoya.

Were they a gift? Or did you purchase on a trip? What mm size are they? What were you told about the pearls? A more close up photo and any other info you can share would be most helpful.

definitely freshwater pearls but they do look like they have great luster.

Pattye's description is excellent. Those are all qualities known to be freshwater. The luster is fantastic, lucky you!

Yes I agree, these are freshwater pearls, due to the rings and not round shape. they are also very smooth.
