Someone told me that there is a big Pearls Market selling Akoya Pearls in Guangdong Province, China. Any information?

There are lots of markets, but nothing like a wholesale market. Even the markets in Beihai are more or less retail. Akoyas are purchased from factories.

I just saw the message about where to buy akoya pearls in China. The akoya pearl farms in China lie in Leizhou peninsula(Liusha Gang)Guangdong province, Beihai Guangxi and SanYa Hainan etc.

My home towm is Leizhou Peninsula, and I am in Guangzhou City to do pearl business. I know the akoya pearl market in China.

I ever led some customers to directly purchase in akoya pearl farms, but the visit is a hard trip. It takes at least 8 hours by car from Guangzhou City to farms. So in most conditions, I let many farmers take the akoya pearls to Guangzhou, then let my customers choose from several farmers. The prices are very reasonable.

To make it even more difficult you should walk from Guangzhou. Instead of 8 hours it will take you 5 days.
Then again, the old silk road trek-method is a little outdated, so you can always take a flight to Behai or Nanning, which takes less than 30 minutes. Sanya on Hainan-dao is mainly a tourist destination, so the farms there will not do you much good.

Beihai city of China is a good place to buy Akoya pearls.I come from Beihai city and deal with Akoya pearls.
Beihai city have three teams to sale Akoya pearl
1.retail saler.
2.wholesaler.
3.manufactory.
Of course,the prices of manufactory is lower than other two.
Beihai city of China have about 1500 culturist pearl farmer family ,but that's no help to you to find them,otherwise you buy the culturist Akoya pearl and manufacture.

Those types of gradings are used in China for our benefit and have no real meaning in China. Also, determining what quality goes with what grade is complete relative, and it is up to the buyer to make the right decision.
