I went to see Sex and the City a few weeks ago and I couldnt keep my eyes off the opera length pearl necklace Sarah wore in several of the scenes. She even wore the pearl necklace in her pajamas! I have not seen too many women wearing opera length and pull it off that well.
According to various news sources, the strand retails for 11K and is available in Mikimoto stores. I sure won't be wearing a 11K strand around the house in my house clothes.

Did you see the monthly special at Pearl Paradise? It's a AAA freshwater pearl necklace like the one in the movie:

Blaire, I just yesterday ordered the City strand and still didn't make the connection between it's name and the film......

yeah, I saw the "City" strand at Pearl Paradise and thought cool, they saw the film too. Sarah JP wears it well.

Oh how I want that necklace! But, the house has to be resided and the front door had water rot and hubby's mother has many medical bills we need to help with. I highly doubt husband would understand the need. But it's a need!! A very important need!

Don't feel bad. I was in the vault at PP when they were discussing the movie opening and how they were preparing a necklace from the movie to capitalize on the sure popularity of it. And I immediately forgot and same as you, didn't get the City reference. Subtlety is lost on me sometimes!

They renamed the necklace really quickly after putting it up. No idea why. Think it was actually called "sex and the city"-strand, it was a very obvious name, you must have missed it.

Hi Raisondetre,
I'll post pics. for sure.
They won't be as good as your pics. though.
Wish I had the knack of photographing pearls...

I will say that ordering the strand was a real joy.
I used the on-line support feature to ask a couple of questions and within seconds was talking to Kirsten.
How cool is that - eight o'clock at night here and I'm chatting to Kirsten about pearls....
The order was all done and dusted within minutes.

Sueki - that is amazing customer service, isn't it?

Can't blame you for succumbing to ordering that strand, though - it is a great deal. The first day I saw it, I thought - oh how cool, with the cocktail glass etc., didn't twig either that it was about the movie for a few days...

Hope you love your pearls! And a neck shot, too - please?

Eeww,
You sure you want to see my ageing scraggy neck ?

And, yes, brilliant customer service.
I think I was particularly impressed that I was browsing at night in my leisure time, and there was Kirsten, 6000 miles away, finding time in her busy working day to chat with me.

I'm absolutely lusting over that PP monthly special. Its such a great special. I'm still working out if I can possibly swing it .. I've made a few naughty handbag purchases this month. My husband is starting to get a little shirty ..

Why couldn't they do it in July though

We had a meeting today and did decide to keep it through July. It has been our hottest-selling piece over the last couple of weeks.

We decided on the day we launched the piece, it would be better to not directly relate the strand to the movie. I ran it by my attorney when we launched it and he said "NO!!!" But we did use targetted keywords in our ad campaigns so that the customers who do randomly find the piece immediately know what it represents.
