I can second that assessment. We had an appraiser on this forum who had what were probably Burmese deep golden pearls that she was thinking may be big akoyas. She tought they may be worth in the US$600 range. And then there was the unnamed jeweler in Canada who thought that he could get an 18-inch strand of top-quality Vietnamese sinanodonta woodiana for US$ 400.
