| I think this is basically a great idea.
Personally I would like more variety; a few more of the larger size and some 8-9mm to break the 6-7mm runs and make it more of an "organic" whole. As it stands, all the larger pearls contribute is a "look at ME. I'm bigger than you!". I think more variety in pearl size would also make a more interesting two/three strand necklace. A four strand is a bit over the top for me - even for the opera- and sadly I just don't have the ankles for a one strand!
What I love about this necklace is that it takes us a step away from the little black dress and pearl necklace comfort zone and a step towards an appreciation of pearls in all their varieties- even if the only variable is the size of the pearls used.
You mentioned the size as different but were the pearls comparable in other aspects? |
