| Iīve picked up knotting again. I kinda got how to make the knots themselves now, using the method that the PearlParadise does. But the trouble is the gimp... I canīt get it over the silk thread! It would probably work if the silk thread was only double where Iīm threading the gimp but itīs 4 strands at the ends of the necklace where the needle is, at least the way Iīm doing it. I think Iīd just have to re-thread the needle if I didnīt double the twin silk thread where the needle is. Not sure if this make any sense? Anyone have any suggestions or am I doing something wrong?
I knotted a full 17 inch strand earlier, happy because I felt I was finally able to knot, and then I just couldnīt sort the gimp part out. Sigh.
Do I have to use thicker gimp? Thinner thread? Both? The annoying part with knotting is that you have to try so many different threads, threadthickness, different needles (I make my own!), different methods etc... At least itīs funny when you can do it properly. |
