Hm... clearly, 'rarity' needs some qualifier here: these pearls are as rare as the production capacity of their farmers allows. And last time I've checked, the prices of black pearls were not the highest among cultured pearls. Nor are these pearls the most scarce. But that's beside the point: black pearls are irrepleaceable (the color enhanced ones do not count)

You'll find an entire fan club for black pearls on this forum debating various sources, types.. quality. A few well-traveled sellers and pearl farmers keep the news flowing. You'll see...
