| Have you considered using 2mm gold balls as spacers -- these act like knots in giving flexibility to the necklace, while reducing the surface area in contact with the pearl -- and stringing onto 49-ply "professional" (26# break) Beadalon to reduce chance of breakage? I have done this with stone necklaces and have never had breakage yet.
