Hi Boo,

Just lovely! I slightly prefer the rainbow drop pearls. I think it will highlight the amazing colors on the pearls. Use the others for pendant or even earrings, although you may have earrings already that will work with your new necklace.

Caitlin, wasn't it Wes Rankin with the finished strands of naturals who had used the rough diamond beads as spacers? Didn't we do a double take at that? did we ask about it? Did you get a close look at those? I don't recall if they were knotted?

The spacers Carolyn uses are very small. I think about 2mm. It is difficult to find spacers that small in silver, I have tried to find daisies in 2mm, but 3.5mm is about the smallest I have found.

Has anyone ever actually had a strand of pearls break?

I am using the wire, crimp beads and spacers of some sort on my pearls, I will post some photos soon. I haven't worn them much, and haven't strung up my choicest pearls, like Tahitians, Sea of Cortez as yet.

I try to choose a spacer that will be relatively smooth and touch only very near the drill hole. Have used some vermeil, as that is gold over silver. The spacer needs to be of a shape that it will not restrict the drape of the strand, juust as the knot functions as a "joint" allowing that, we all know how tightly fitted the pearls are next to each other on the temporary strands.

I think this is a very useful discussion----thanks all---
