Ok, so I am having another sleepless night and started trawling through websites trying to find something amusing/interesting..anything. So I found this

Now my question revolves around 11-12mm black peacock necklace. Are these Tahitians? Am I missing something? The photo doesn't look attractive at all to me. And the oddest thing, to me is the price. So $1,300 seems very high for this strand, but it is the clasp that intrigues me. It comes with a sterling silver clasp, which makes me doubt Tahitian.(well, actually the photo started the doubts) Then you can upgrade to 14k gold for $15.
I mean, if you are going to spend so much for the pearls, why not just sell it with the gold clasp?
